🌥️ Canon Extender Ef 1.4 X Iii Lens Compatibility
Refer to the camera and lens instruction booklets to see if there are any AF compatibility limitations. The maximum aperture is indicated in half-stop increments. Maximum Aperture with the Extender When Extender EF1.4X III is attached, the lens maximum aperture will be smaller (darker) by 1 stop.
The focal length range is reported as 200-800 and the f number as f/9 to f/13. If I take the extender off the lens is correctly recognized. So Canon extenders exhibit a curious behavior when a Tamron 100-400 is attached. Outside of that, outdoors in the daylight the lens works fine autofocus and all.
It appears to be Canon EF extenders are only for those costly lenses. Canon says "If you want to use our extenders you need to be worthy enough to buy our costly lenses". Each lens in the compatibility list for both 1.4x and 2x are $1500 and above. Have a look at these and see if it makes sense: 70-300: 70-200/2.8L IS II. 100-400L II:
A teleconverter is typically attached to the camera first, then the lens is attached to the end of the teleconverter. But if you prefer to attach the teleconverter to the lens first, then mount the two on the camera, that’s also an option. SONY A9 + FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS @ 280mm (1.4x TC), ISO 2500, 1/320, f/4.0.
A Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS Lens becomes a 600mm f/5.6 IS lens. And, as shown in my Canon EF 2x III Extender review examples above, the Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L USM Macro Lens becomes a 360mm f/7.1 USM Macro Lens. DSLR cameras will continue to calculate auto exposures properly when used with Canon Extenders.
All will mount crop lenses (EF-s) and also mount full frame (EF) lenses. Scott Canon 5d mk 4, Canon 6D, EF 70-200mm L f/2.8 IS mk2; EF 16-35 f/2.8 L mk. I have the Viltrox Speedbooster EF-EOS M2 for my canon M50 M2. When attaching the Canon EF 70-200mm IS USM ii to this booster and body the camera reads F/00 and will not switch to autofocus. When using the Viltrox EF-EOS M adapter the lenses operates fine. What Am I able to do to have this speed booster work with this lens?
I just tried a RF 2x extender and, RF-EF adapter and a EF 75-300 lens and the Rx Extender won't attach with the adapter. Looks like I would also need a 2x Extender III or 1.4x Extender III to make this work. Thanks for all the advice.
